The Carlton adds arms and a more substantial back to the bentwood family, giving guests a chair they will happily sit in for a full dinner. A curved top rail runs into the arms, supported by fanned spindles that give the chair its character. The padded seat is covered in black faux leather as standard, with a bentwood ring and stretchers beneath.
Armchairs take more floor space than side chairs, so we typically recommend them at the heads of tables, in pub dining rooms and in restaurants with generous spacing. Check that the arm height clears your table apron; send us your table height and we will confirm on the drawing.
Comfort and care. The padded seat sits on a sprung timber frame and is covered in a commercial faux leather that wipes clean with mild detergent; fabric or genuine leather can be specified for evening venues. The fanned back gives lateral support without the bulk of an upholstered back, which keeps a dining room visually open. Pair it with our Fitzroy or Newtown side chairs in the same stain for a mixed but matching room.
