The Surry Hills is a compact cafe chair built for density. A moulded ply back in natural oak tone sits on a black steel spine above a tan padded seat; the timber legs finish in black metal shoes that protect the leg ends from mop water and kicks, the place where timber chair legs usually fail first.
It is a practical, warm-looking chair for cafes, canteens and casual restaurants, with a seat that wipes clean. Ply finish, steel colour and seat cover can all be changed.
Sizing and pairing. Its compact footprint suits 600-700 mm two-tops along banquettes and communal tables where every 50 mm matters. Pair the natural ply back with timber or laminate table tops and a tan, black or green seat depending on your palette. The metal shoes and replaceable glides mean daily mopping does not wick water into the leg ends, a common cause of swelling and failure in timber cafe chairs.
